@*Elyse g. *; I would suggest you ring Applecare back and tell them what dicks they are then. 10 seconds of searching on google and I found this. https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18716?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US

What is the full path from drive letter to DROPBOX folder? And are the duplicates containing all the content of your dropbox?
-
@Elyse g. YOU SAID >>> However, when I look in my dropbox folders and online, the documents are not in Dropbox AND NOW YOU SAID >>> and the locations all have "dropbox" in the path name. . So which one is it, since your story's changing.
-
If they are not in your dropbox folder then its not dropbox doing it.
-
Glad it appears all good, please report back on results, as these threads remain active for others to search on , and seeing a final outcome report good or bad is helpful to those also seeking a resolution in the future.

That looks fine to me. D drive was just an example, glad you could see that, some people take every character literally, like ill say {username} and they say "I could not find '{username}'" I'm like OMG! . Anyway, the only thing Ill mention and I should have said why I named it as i did, and it is just a naming semantics…

Keeping them next to each other helps the brain remember they are connected. Dont put it in your DROPBOX folder, it wont help you, its machine specific, and its updates will keep causing the app to think something updated and update it, which then causes it to think something updated etc.

Its is similar to a shortcut, but NOT the same. . When you enter a shortcut to a folder it takes you to the location of the folder. C:\1\2.lnk shows you D:\2 When you enter a symbolic link folder it shows you the location as the folder. C:\1\2 (symbolic link) shows you C:\1\2 which is actually D:\2 . The DB app expects the…

Indexing is reading all the files in your dropbox folder and building a crc/md5 type set of index values for each 4MB chunk of file. These values get stored into a database file in C:\Users{username}\AppData\Roaming\Dropbox and below. . You are restarting from a snapshot and this folder and files are as it was at the time…

You should only get conflicted PST files, if you have opened Outlook on both machines at the same time, (or at least opened the second one before the DB app was able to sync the changes from the first one being closed). This is a regular cause of conflicted copies on any application. Outlook is nothing special. FYI: large…

@Andrew G. Well that was outside the scope of what you asked for. . However Open an excel spreed sheet and dump a list of the file names into column A then put this into column B ="rename "&A1&" "&DEC2HEX(RANDBETWEEN(1,16777216),6)&RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-FIND(".",A1)+1)&"" And replicate it down the rows Then copy column B and…

I renamed a folder and got one, it sees the rename as a massive delete followed by a massive add.
-
Ahhhhh thats a interesting bit of info, I would agree with you, they must be detecting the browser type and assuming mac users want mac formating.
-
Very odd, the default display is folders first followed by files. are you resorting via clicking no the NAME column?
-
Michael E : that folder can be hidden, search for hidden and system folders also.
-
Reg A. : re "And it seem to me you can't create a folder with the same name because the OS would just say that it already exists, yes?." IIt seems to me if people actually read replies they wouldnt write counter replies that are not applicable. So again.... Selective sync works of the folders that are in the cloud, not the…
-
Why dont you just exclude the folder from syncing via the suggestion I made, it would seem much easier. (Deleting it wont help you windows recreates it)
-
Selective sync works of the folders that are in the cloud, not the machine. So I would expect you can just create the folder via the website, and then selectively unsync it.
-
Change the permissions on the folders in your operating system so you cant move or erase them.
-
Well its been like this from the start so why did it only cause problems today?
-
It only does that if it finds one, so it must be there, using the left side SHARING link, place your mouse over each share, and look to the bottom left (most browsers) for the expanded full path of the shares, one of them will be in the folder your trying to share.

Keep hope alive, Db are rolling out "Infinite" which they are touting as all Db content listing in explorer but still in the cloud, with localize on demand.
-
Ed : while its a big ask as its a new client or new way, I would suggest DB for the future looks at mounting the folder as a drive, as such you can create remote drives much simpler than trying to create a remote folder (since even MS gave up on the idea)
-
Where did they say, you had to have a laptop drive?
-
They use domain names, you cant expect IP ranges, they could change. . You might also find that the SSL inspection breaks DB on its own, something to do with DB's implementation of SSL (although this was a while ago so may have been addressed)

Anthony U: it works on all versions of the PC app. However on close inspection of the original request I realized Vlad B is talking about the date the file was uploaded (which is set server side and cant be fooled with). I thought he was meaning the DATE on the files datetime stamp. To correct the cloud file to the…

the dropbox local folder I mean,
-
Move the file OUT of dropbox Change the modified date locally Move the file back into dropbox
-
Im not really interested in seeing some size of file as shown in some photo viewer where it looks like your rescaling it and that is the resulting file size, which even mentions the original size. I would suggest you check the FILE size on the hard drive using a file browser (finder?)

Katherine M. The web pages download button does NOT download the preview it downloads the original file. However if your right clicking on the preview and selecting a context menu to download image, then that is the image you right clicked on.
