No, it did not. Even going into the properties and changing it to ensure there was no hidden file type appended to it didn't work. I had to completely recreate the folder with a different name.

That said, I think I did figure out the issue: it was folders that ended in a period from an abbreviation that seemed to be making the file system think it was something other than a folder. Not sure why it only effected this computer, but I was able to recreate the folders with a slightly different name and copy out all…

Hey Hannah! Late coming back to this, but I've tried force-qutting DropBox and Finder both, including the background dropbox processes in several different orders. Still showing the same folders as packages.

Hi Hannah! There does not seem to be any consistency to the files in the folders that are showing up as packages vs. not. Many contain other folders, some contain predominately PDFs, others office documents or images. I will try force quitting and relaunching. I did try a full reboot. To add, the folders show up fine online (although don't work when clicking the "show in finder" option) and also show up fine in iOS.
