Thanks for your post here, @"GREG BARTON". Was your Dropbox account restored after contacting our support team, by any chance? If yes, can you please send me the ticket number from your convo with them? Feel free to send me a screenshot of any errors you're receiving, too. Let me know more details.

Hey @"mvannatta", hope it’s OK to jump in. I’ll also have to agree with Mark on this and say that you’re most likely logged in to Dropbox with a different account (also, one email address can’t be linked to more than one Dropbox accounts). From a look into our system, I can see you’ve opened a ticket with our support team…
-
Hey @"mrjw"! You had mentioned in your original post (a few months back) that you were in touch with our support team; can you perhaps find your ticket number from your convo with them, so that I can also have a look at it?

Welcome to the forum, @"jjkazz"! Hope you’re doing well. Just to clarify, it’s not your File Explorer (where the Dropbox folder is saved) the one that's freezing, but the Dropbox app itself, correct? Do you happen to use any kind of antivirus/firewall on your computer at the moment? If you do, I'd like you to disable it…en I installed the Dropbox app on Windows 11, but it keeps freezing. Hey @"jetnova16", thanks for posting on our Community today. Have you already tried to turn the feature Off via your Dropbox app preferences, restart your computer and then, turn the feature On again? As for OneDrive, is it currently disabled on your computer, or did you just disable the feature to save your screenshots on…

Welcome back to our forum, @"KathyMc4". Can you please try this and this suggestion and let me know if they help? If they don’t, feel free to send me a couple of screenshots of what you see on your end, and we’ll check this further. Keep me updated.

Thanks for your idea, @"simpleaddress4390"! In this case, pausing the Dropbox app’s syncing may work for you. Can you please check out this Help Center article and let me know, if it helps? Keep me updated.

Hey @"simpleaddress4390"! Thanks for your post. Do you mean that you’d like to have a way of automatically ignoring those files each time? Also, do you want to just ignore the hidden files, or the files they’ve been created for, as well? Finally, please take a look at this Help Center article and let me know if it’d help…

Thanks for clarifying! Can I go ahead and log a ticket for you then to the email address you’ve linked to your Community profile here?

@"aryankkkkkkkkkkk", which platform did you use to upgrade your Dropbox account originally? Was it www.dropbox.com, or Google Play/iTunes?
-
Hi again, @"hyunjoon12"! If you right-click on one of your folders now, do you see the option to make it available offline? If you do, please choose that option, wait for it to fully sync on your computer, and try to copy it again after that. Does it get successfully pasted now at the new location?
-
Hey @"hyunjoon12"! Welcome to our forum. Is this function working for individual files, or do you notice the same behavior? Can you send me a screenshot of your folders, as they appear within your local Dropbox folder? I’d like to check their syncing status for you. Finally, if you check your system tray/menu bar, can you…

Hi @"mini_mo", thanks for posting on our forum today. Shared links have always pointed to files on the Dropbox website, from what I remember. Could you clarify when was the last time you were able to use this feature and have shared links point to files on the desktop app directly? If you haven’t already, please also check…

Hope you don’t mind if I jump in, @"kaelsidhe"! From what I understand, you’re seeing the option mentioned here to create a Dropbox Paper folder and move your document there. To have a clear image of what you see though, can you please send me a full screenshot, as well?
-
Hey @"fougilang", welcome to our Community. From what you describe, I understand you’re receiving this error. As for the email, did you also check your email address’s spam folder and it’s not there either? Let me know what you find.
-
Hey @"mosie", you can disable your Dropbox backup with these steps. Let me know if you face any issues along the way or if the backup gets disabled successfully. We’ll look into your current Dropbox trial after that, as well.
-
Hey @"tythecopper"! Hope it’s alright to nudge you. Did you have the chance to check out Ethan’s post perhaps?
-
Did you also double check with your admin and they can’t see this folder on their end?
-
Hey @"Syakir"! Regarding your first point, do you mean that you asked your admin to remove you from their Dropbox team and they have? Did you check with them and they can’t locate your missing content either?
-
If you right-click on the folder instead, select “Move” and then, paste it in the desired location, do you still see the same result? Are you trying to move the folder to a separate Dropbox account of yours, by any chance? If yes, then this could be expected as per this point.
-
Hey @"David Hwang"! To make sure I got this right, you edit the file locally on your computer, and the Dropbox app doesn’t sync your updates to the web. Correct? Is this happening with a specific type of files or with any file you edit nonetheless? Feel free to send me a screenshot of what you see after editing the file(s)…
-
@"tadashi1", can you please try a basic reinstall of the Dropbox app as well, and let me know if it helps?
-
@"sbahles", can you reinstall the Dropbox app on your computer, in case you haven’t tried this already?
-
Thanks for posting this here, @"MandyWang"! Can you post a screenshot of the error you’re receiving, so that I can take a look? Can you also test this via a completely different browser (if you haven’t already) and let me know what you see? Keep me in the loop for more updates.
-
Hey @"kartel89"! Sorry for jumping in. So, to clarify, your File Explorer crashes when renaming and adding files to your Dropbox folder. Correct? If the behavior persists when the Dropbox app isn’t running, then this may not necessarily be linked to Dropbox. To further test this though, if you take the same actions, but in…en Windows file explorer crashes when renaming Dropbox folders/files Comentario por Nancy March 2025

Are you having this issue only when clicking on the “Settings" option? I’m also attaching here a link to the Settings page directly. Are you still experiencing the same issue, if you click on it?

Hey @"tech1enterprise", welcome to our Community. Please keep in mind that Dropbox Vault is no longer an available feature (as of 03/04/2025). However, any files you previously had saved within your Vault should now be found in a regular folder on your Dropbox account. For more info, please check out this Help Center…

Hey @"Umair R."! I double checked this with our team in the meantime, and they also mentioned that this is mostly related to Apple rather than Dropbox (since the app is working normally otherwise). A few more steps you can try in the meantime are these ones: Add Dropbox to Firewall Exceptions: - If disabling Private Relay…

Thanks for posting this here, @"amm1625". Have you tested this via a different browser and you keep seeing the same thing? If you do, please send me a screenshot of where you click on and what you see exactly when the page reloads. I’ll be able to further assist this way.

Thanks for posting on our forum today, train. If a lot of people tried to access and download the files from your shared links, then it's quite possible that your sharing activity would be paused (please also check this Help Center article for more details). Since you mention not using all of your daily bandwidth though,…
