Make sure the email you use is identical to the email you use from Dropbox. The OTHER thing is that Dropbox terms do state that they can, and do, remove data from accounts to…
  • @"SLHSB" wrote:But for now, you are right - if you pay more you get more functionality. Especially when the services cost - storing your data on its own has a cost implication.... without any revenue coming in like places like iCloud do (hardware) or GDrive (adverts).
  • @"SLHSB" wrote:Thank you Jay. Can I ask why it is limited to team plans and not for individuals please? Thank you To be honest its not something I've seen with many solutions on anything but Enterprise plans - and I use a lot of varying solutions and systems due to my work. It's like the old adage of 'you get what you pay…
  • @"LeonF" wrote:everything as at the date you rewind to if it is working optimally? It will roll back the account to the state it was in at that point but not files that were permanently deleted. I'm afraid, the clue is in the title. They are permanently removed and purged from the Dropbox servers when you do it. There is…
  • If they arent showing on Events then a few things has possibly happened: * They arent on Dropbox and never have been - have you checked you have enough quota to sync? * They have been permanently deleted (this removes all traces of them) * They are in a share which you have been removed from - OR you removed a share…

Yet, I'm redirected to email correspondance with a significant lag in responses from your team. Out of interest have you paid for the upgrade or taken a trial? Trial memberships don't include support at the…
  • @"LeonF" wrote:Has anyone ever recovered files or folders you may have accidentally permanently deleted? If so, how do you do it? The only way I can think of is either via a backup OR a device connected to Dropbox which has not yet sync'd the deletion (maybe an infrequently used laptop?).
  • If you have logged a ticket Dropbox will get back to you shortly 🙂
  • If you sign in again you will be able to reactivate it however the data within the account which was removed is not recoverable I'm afraid. As the email says about inactivity, it is wiped if accounts are not reactivated.
  • There is no way to check or know if a link has been sent I'm afraid. You need to ask them, or, copy the link and send it via your own email (which is what I usually do) as I can then include other info with it and I've proof it was sent.
  • @"Trish S.2" wrote: When he Clicks on Add to Dropbox in email from me, it asks for Login ... not the Folder Secure Password which I put on the Folder! So he cannot access Folder Thats because you've given him edit access. The only way to have edit access on a folder is with a valid Dropbox account (so that it knows who is…
  • @"AleSoria" wrote: Hello! I used it a couple of weeks ago. And isn’t a paid account. I am devastated I can’t get my photographs back. What exactly is the error? How do you know it was deleted? Dropbox doesn't actually give a 'deleted' message or error upon logging in if it has been.
  • @"caw81677" wrote: The ticket # referenced was created by the impacted user. Just review the ticket and you will see. We really need this solved and so far Dropbox support is not helpful. I dont work for Dropbox so I cant. Dropbox support only works Mon through Fri so it wont be picked up to earliest Monday.
  • @"TNTyce" wrote:Has there been any solution to this problem? I now have the same thing showing in my Recycle Bin explorer. It is very annoying. Thank you for any help. It isnt a Dropbox issue I'm afraid - its something that has been done at OS level. Have you recently changed any files in Windows etc.?
  • @"caw81677" wrote:I have created a trial account just to see if I can get better support options and the community is the best I can find. Trial accounts cannot get paid levels of support because so many do exactly this I'm afraid - they upgrade to get help then cancel when they have it. Unfortunately the only people who…

Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file." Advice? That often means the extension has been changed or removed. Make sure the file is still called…
  • @"yofitofi" wrote: Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately the account is completely empty, there is no history of deletions. I'm sure I logged into the same email. I found a message in the email dated 18.7.23 Warning: You are 100 times over your Basic storage limit - New files added to your Dropbox folder won't be…
  • @"tatendamakoni" wrote:Thanks Mark, unfortunately its been more than the 30 days 😞 In which case it isnt recoverable I'm afraid - even if you pay to upgrade you cannot get it back now 😞 Sorry
  • @"tatendamakoni" wrote:Hi Hannah, can you kindly help me with retrieving my dropbox folders that were deleted by someone loaning my laptop You can do it yourself via https://help.dropbox.com/delete-restore/recover-deleted-files-folders as long as it was deleted within 30 days (assuming you are a free user).
  • Sorry I'm confused, where is the symlink on the iPhone or is it on the Mac? Note that Dropbox doesn't support or follow symlinks. However, Dropbox does now upload photos from the photo albums on the mobile device. So its possible it is pulling them from that. You can change it in the 'Back Up...' menu
  • @"clientreleases" wrote: Thanks for using Dropbox! The desktop client is regularly updated with many improvements and fixes. So, its gone stable but still no bug fixes and info on whats changed? There has obviously been some change as its moved from beta to stable. Come on @"clientreleases" - your users deserve more.
  • @"Stacy3" wrote: How can I cancel my subscription immediately and get my refund that you took today Have you read the help articles on it?
  • Hi @"Drip1" You can restore files that were deleted up to 30 days ago as a free user, then 180 days as a paid one. BUT the key thing here is that if you deleted something say 35 days ago and then upgraded you wont extend that 30 day window because it isn't retroactive, it will only give you 30 days still. The 180 day…
  • @"Caren43893" wrote:Great, thank you, that's really helpful. So it looks like I need to get them all to sign up for a free account with Dropbox as well, ideally using the same email i have for them already , is that right? Yes, although you may find it easier to ask if they have an account already - many will. Some may…
  • @"Paradell" wrote:Disappointing but thanks anyways, is there a way to contact someone who works there about it like they have some database that keeps if for even longer? They dont. • @"CAB2k" wrote:Thanks for the reply. So in your scenario when the internet is unavailable you can not access those files? I need access to my files even if the internet is down. Dropbox is a folder on your device like any other, so, if you have the files stored locally (ie. offline access and not online only in the cloud)…
  • @"Paradell" wrote: But I bought a subscription again so can I get it back? No, sorry. Purchasing does not retroactive anything. You would have needed to have the subscription at time of deletion and kept it. Once you stop paying any files over 30 days are unrecoverable.
  • As long as you deleted them less than 30 days ago, assuming that you are a free user, you can do it yourself via https://help.dropbox.com/delete-restore/recover-deleted-files-folders If its over that I'm afraid it isn't possible.
  • @"Martin Simonovski" wrote:I access the folder from other devices and find that it's empty. The files and folders have been removed from the shared folder before the person left the folder! It sounds like then they are unrecoverable - at least via Dropbox. If they permanently deleted the files (which they could do as…
  • Welcome @"Caren43893" ! 1) Yes they will 🙂 As long as they have enough space on their account they will be fine. 2) Yes. Thats how shared folders work - as long as they go to the web to get the updated files, or, have Dropbox running on a computer the changes will sync down to it. 3) They can add any file, at all, in to…
