Hey @"shrimpgordita", does this only happen with files in your Dropbox folder or any file in your file explorer? If you close the Dropbox app completely, does the issue persist with the app closed?
-
Sorry to hear that, @"Monggul". Have you tried Jay's suggestion, to see if it helps?
-
Hi there, @"Touchdown", thanks for reaching out to us. I'm afraid this is a setting that cannot be changed, but are you sure that the date is from 2022? If you chose to upload new photos only, it should start uploading only the photos and videos you take from now on, not your older ones. Would you mind sending us a…

Thanks for the update here, @CarboneT! I'm glad to see that you were able to find and restore your files. If you need anything else, let us know!
-
Hey @CarboneT, sorry to hear about this. Was the folder in question a shared or a non-shared one? Do you perhaps see the deletion event in your events page here? Let me know how it goes.
-
Hey again, @MLGGLM! Do you currently have access to that computer or not any more?
-
Thanks @sander34! It should work, I'm testing it now on my end as well, but keep in mind that the change you can make is a bit small and it takes about a second to show. If that's not what you see, I'd suggest checking out from an incognito window or another browser, to see if you get a different behavior.

Thanks for the update, @liz0827. The thing is that with view-only links, no login is required. And if you were sent a link that allows editing, you'd be prompted to sign in to your Dropbox account, not a Gmail account. You should be able to upload a screenshot to your next reply from the camera icon right above the reply…

Thanks for the screenshots and the info, Johnny! If you simply quit the Dropbox app, does the issue persist while the app is closed?
-
Hey @sander34, thanks for joining the Dropbox Community. Since you mentioned a browser window, I assume you're referring to the Dropbox website, right? I'm afraid there's no way to make that sidebar collapse, but you can hover over the line that divides it from your folder list to adjust the width a bit. I hope this helps,…

Hi there, @JoedySANS, welcome to our Community! The "Apps" folder is a non-shared folder that's created in one's account, once they connect a third-party app to said account. Is it possible that the team members in question do not have this third-party app linked to their Dropbox? You can read more about third-party app…
-
Thanks for that, @frenchfoxdesign! Hopefully, the team will have an update for us really soon!
-
Hey @MLGGLM, thanks for posting your question today! From what I can understand, you were previously using the Dropbox desktop app on a computer you no longer have access to, is that right? What you can do, is disconnect that computer from your account, by deleting it from your devices here. This will stop the computer…

Hey @liz0827, thanks for reaching out to us. Do you know if the link you were sent, is a link that allows editing or is it simply a "view-only" link? Would you mind sending us a screenshot of what you see after clicking on the link? Make sure to hide any personal info on the screenshot, though. Thanks!
-
Hey @frenchfoxdesign, would you mind sharing your ticket number with us, so we can take locate it through our system as well?
-
Hey @Francisco-Torres, thanks for the update! It looks like you're currently using the beta version of the app, which might give you some issues, since it's experimental. I'd like you to turn off the early releases option here and then simply reinstall the newest stable version of the app from this page. Let me know if…
-
Hey @JohnnyVegas, since we wouldn't be able to open the link for security reasons anyway, can you attach the screenshots themselves to your next reply? Thanks!
-
Hey @fossor, thanks for the additional info. Our team is aware of this and they're working to get it sorted in the next few days. As a temporary workaround, within grid view, you should be able to do this, by clicking the checkbox at the top left of each item.
-
Hey @guruuno, I appreciate the info you gave me. However, just to clarify, there are two ways of adding files from an external drive to Dropbox. You can either manually copy them into your Dropbox folder, to actually sync them to your account, which means that the files will also take up hard drive space in order to sync.…

We can actually only email you to the address associated with your Community profile, which can be found here. I can see that it's a different one; is the file missing from the account you're reaching out from or a different one, under the address you gave me above?
-
Hey @rh2284, thanks for posting your question to the Dropbox Community. I'm afraid that if the file was deleted more than 30 days ago, it cannot be recovered. If you'd like us to take a closer look, by providing specific info pertaining to this file, I can send you an email. Let me know.
-
Hey @TM2024, thanks for letting us know about this. Where are you seeing this issue? On dropbox.com? If so, have you tried accessing these files from a different browser or a private browsing window, to see if you get a different behavior?
-
Hey @DAC4, unfortunately, we can't access the link you sent us, for security reasons. Can you attach the actual screenshot to your next reply? Also, you mentioned that the shared folder still shows up in its location on dropbox.com and on the computers of other members; does the person who moved it, also see it in their…

Hey @guruuno, Walter is asking you some basic questions, so we can gather some info, in order to troubleshoot the issue accordingly. Keep in mind that you can back up the following types of external hard drives to Dropbox Backup: * On Windows: NTFS, exFAT, FAT32 * On Mac: HFS+, APFS, exFAT, FAT32 Is this the case for your…

That's great to hear, Augusto, I'm happy to see it was resolved! Not really sure why it did it this time, that's why we sometimes go back to steps we've already tried, but I'm glad to see it worked. If you come across this issue again, let us know!

Thanks for this info, @jpglutting, it's really interesting indeed. Does refreshing Finder, by force quitting and re-launching it, help at all?
-
Have you checked if this is happening with links from other apps/services besides Dropbox, Adrian?
-
Hey @jpglutting, can you make sure that Dropbox has full disk access? It might help in this case as well.
-
Does the file open as normal for the owner, when they try to preview it in their Dropbox, @CarlsB?
-
Hey @FungusSausage, unfortunately, for security reasons, we can't access the link you gave us. Is it possible to attach a series of screenshots in your next reply, showing the process and what you see?
