Hey @"MH-77", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Can you let me know what was the original error message that you received when you initially tried to pay for your Dropbox subscription? Also, would you mind trying again, this time from a different WiFi network, to see if that helps? Keep me posted!

Happy to see it worked, David! If you need anything else, make sure to give us a shout. Have a wonderful week ahead! 🙂

Hey @"DavidRGenet", thanks for the nudge here and happy new year! Can you try the steps listed by my colleague Megan in this thread, to see if they help?
-

Hey @"bacchaegrl", thanks for joining the Dropbox Community and happy new year! Were you able to figure this out? If you don't see a transaction ID attached to the payments, is it possible that you're paying through iTunes/Google Play instead? Keep me posted.

Hey @"SNANA51832", thanks for letting us know about this. The 'PC' and 'PC(2)' folders mean that you have enabled the computer backup feature on two connected PCs, but the backup folder name cannot be changed. Can you clarify what you mean when you say that you reinstalled your PC? Did you update your operating system or…

Thanks for the update! Now, please open the 'Activity Monitor'. It should be under Applications > Utilities. Then, check to see if there are any items that refer to Dropbox, or if you recognize any programs that you may have linked to Dropbox and follow these steps:* Click on the line that references the process to select…

Thanks for the update, Wendy and happy holidays! The 'local/online-only' settings refer to Smart sync, which is a feature that helps you free up hard drive space. If the app's sync status indicates that it's downloading files, it means that it's trying to sync changes or files added by other users, or changes you made to…

Hey @"MikeWWW", thanks for the nudge here. When did you cancel your Dropbox Plus subscription? I mean, has the account been downgraded to the free version yet? To upgrade to any other plan directly through our site, your Google Play subscription needs to end and the account needs to be downgraded. You can check your plan…

Hey @"monomond", thanks for the nudge here. Did you perhaps only recently update your iOS to 15? Also, if you search for 'Dropbox' in the actions available in Shortcuts, are you able to find a 'save to Dropbox' option that you can use instead?
-
Hey @"Dunca", thanks for reaching out and sorry to see you're having trouble with this. Are you using a Windows or a Mac computer? Let me know and we'll go from there!
-
Hey @"wendy_mugridge", thanks for bringing this to our attention today. Can you please check the exact sync status when you hover you mouse over the Dropbox icon? Do you see any sync errors maybe? Also, can both you and your co-workers see your own changes online? Keep me posted.

Hey @"bwfoto", welcome aboard the Dropbox Community. I'm afraid that there's no way to install an older version of the Dropbox desktop app to a computer. The Dropbox app gets updated automatically, so even if you were to install an older version, it wouldn't sync and it would keep trying to update. Let me know if you have…

Hey @"teek1972", welcome to our Community. When you move files out of the Dropbox folder, they should be deleted from your Dropbox. Since the deletion is not reflected in your deleted files page, you'll either still find the files in the 'all files' page, or they never actually synced to your account. In any case, though,…
-
Hey @"DonaldLiberatore", thanks for commenting here. It sounds like you've enabled computer backup on your Dropbox application. At this point, any file you delete from Dropbox, will be deleted from your computer and vice versa. You can disable it and move your files back to their original locations, by following the steps…

Hey @"Stephen W.15", happy Monday and thanks for posting your questions! Regarding case 1, assuming that by web app, you're talking about the website, indeed, using Dropbox only through the web would result in this behavior. Now, regarding case 2, can you clarify how you'd be uploading the library to Dropbox? Through the…

Thanks for the ticket ID, @"tarunpande"! I can see that you were already in contact with another agent about this, so they should have already provided all the info you need about this issue. As for you, @"dataP", can you please login on a different browser or an incognito/private browsing window, and try to update your…

Perfect, I just sent you an email, so make sure to check your inbox, Herman. Have a great day!

Hey @"tarunpande", thanks for the comment here and sorry to see you're having trouble as well. Would you mind sending me the ticket number from your communication with us, so I can check it out?

Thanks for the clarification here. With the way backup works, you can enable it on one computer and your files are backed up to Dropbox. If this computer stays connected to your Dropbox and backup also stays enabled, the backed up folders will sync to any other computer you connect to Dropbox. However, the backed up…

Perfect, I'm happy to see you were able to find the button to disable computer backup. During this process, you should have been asked if you want to keep your files in their original locations (step 6), was that not the case?
-
I see, thanks for the update here, Herman! May I actually reach out to you via email, so we can look into this a bit more closely?
-
Hey @"Moritz K", thanks for joining us on the Dropbox Community. It seems you have enabled our computer backup feature on your Dropbox application. You can disable it and move your files back to their original locations, by following the steps here. Let me know if you have any questions!
-
Hey @"pincoz", thanks for posting your question on our Community today. If I understood correctly, you want to disable backup for your new computer and move the folders back to their original locations. To do this, you can follow the steps in this article. Let me know if there's something I misunderstood, though, or if you…

Perfect, I just reached out to you, so make sure to check your emails!

Hey @"James H.83", thanks for the nudge here. You can only change the state of your local files from the local Dropbox folder on your computer. So, you'd need to go to your Dropbox folder, right click on it, select Smart sync > Local.
-
Sure thing, Filipe and happy Monday! If you go to the original location of your desktop files, do you see a 'Files in Dropbox' shortcut? Also, in your Dropbox folder, do you see a "Mac" folder? Did you check for your files in there?
-
Hey @"Cg28", thanks for the nudge here. To delete the backup folder without deleting your desktop files, you'd need to disable the backup feature and move your files back to their original location first. Did you try following the steps my colleague @"Walter" provided above?
