Hey @"ethet555", thanks for reaching out. I've moved your post to this relevant thread, I hope that's alright. You can see more info on why this is happening and what you can do here. Let me know if you have any questions.

No problem, we just contacted you on the address you have here on the Community and we'll see how we can go about this. You've got mail, @"Yasers"! We'll continue from there. Have a great day!

Hey @"Rothman and Company", sorry to jump in here. If you go to the content tab in your admin console, are you able to create a team folder from there? If you can do it from there, but not the all files page or your main Dropbox folder, you might have the top-level content management setting set to "only admins". Setting…

Hey @"Stuart" M.7, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Can you please check something? If you add a test file to your Dropbox using our website, instead of the Dropbox mobile app, does that one sync as available offline? Also, what is the sync status of the Dropbox application at the moment? You can see that by…

Hey @"Danyel", thanks for reaching out to our Community. The default location of the Dropbox folder is the C: drive, that's why it was saved there, when you reinstalled Dropbox. And you can't have two Dropbox folders in the same drive, that's why you couldn't move it to L:. If you want your active Dropbox folder in the L:…

Hey @"GPet73", thanks for reaching out to our Community. If you go to your local Dropbox folder in your Finder, are you able to locate your desktop files there? And in their original locations, do you see shortcuts for the folders, or just nothing at all? Also, what is the sync status of the Dropbox app? You can hover over…

That's great, I'm happy to see you were able to find the files and restore them, Daniel! If you need anything else, make sure to give us a shout. Have a great day!en My files are missing after unlinking some older connected devices Comentario por Hannah July 2022

Sorry to jump in here, @"dp201021", but is there a possibility that you didn't access your Dropbox account at all for 12 (or more) months? Because if that's the case, the entire account could have been deleted due to inactivity. You would have received an email about this beforehand, though, so I'd suggest you take a look…

Thanks for the nudge here, @"windwalkercj". We also appreciate your feedback about this. I'll make sure your comments are passed along to our team. As a workaround, have you tried adding the files to Dropbox through your Files app? You can go to your Files app, tap the "..." icon, and then "select", select the files you…

Hey @"chzz", thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community. Even though this doesn't really have to do with Dropbox, I will leave this thread open, in case a user has some helpful info for you. Let me know if you need anything else.

Hey @"DanielMarquez", thanks for reaching out and sorry to see that your files are missing. Unlinking a device would in no way cause your files to get deleted from your account, though. Have you looked into your deleted files page, to see if you can locate the files there? What does your events page show? Keep me posted.en My files are missing after unlinking some older connected devices Comentario por Hannah July 2022

Thanks for keeping us in the loop about this. I'm happy to see that the issue seems to be resolved now. 🙂 If you need anything else, make sure to give us a shout!

Hey @"jackprest", thanks for reaching out. Since there's a new version of the Dropbox app out today, would you mind updating the app, to see if you see the same thing? Thanks.
-
Hey @"PSYKO", thanks for reaching out to us. Are your Dropbox files affected in any way? Like, any strange extensions added to your files, or are you not able to open them, etc.? Where did this "Jiangmin TrojanSpy.Stealer.ygv" appear? If you add the Dropbox cache folder to an ignore list on your antivirus, do you see a…
-
Hey @"TERRACE_87", thanks for the nudge here. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Dropbox application on your computer, won't affect the files in your Dropbox folder. Once it's reinstalled, the application will just re-index your files to check for changes. Are you having some kind of issue that you're trying to troubleshoot?
-
Hey @"olddog76", thanks for joining us on the Dropbox Community. Are all these Dropbox.exe actually running, or do they just exist in the application folder? Would you mind sending over a screenshot of where you see this? Thanks in advance.
-
I see, thanks for the clarification! Are they available in the Dropbox folder of the new computer, though, or are they missing from there as well? If they are missing, do the names of these folders, contain any of the incompatible characters here? If so, try to remove those characters, using the website, to see if the…

You're most welcome, Gary! Have a great day! 🙂

Hey everyone! Thanks for your feedback about this. All your comments have been passed along to our developers, so we appreciate you taking the time to comment here. If you need anything else, make sure to let us know!

Hey @"Mattinna", thanks for the nudge here and sorry to see you're having trouble. When you say that Dropbox support is not answering you, do you mean that you submitted a help request and didn't receive a reply? Can you please give me the ticket number for this communication, so I can look it up in our system? If you…

Thanks for the update here! Just to make sure I got this right, you're opening the sync preferences on your new computer, but you're not seeing your newest folders in the selective sync settings, only older ones? Are these new folders synced to your account and are you able to access them from your account online?
-
I think what Megan actually means, is that it would have been best if you allowed everything to sync first before disabling backup, which is true. If you've already disabled it, can you check if the app is still trying to sync the files even now?
-
Thanks for getting back to us about this, @"fosterdouglas"! We appreciate you giving us the results of your communication with our specialists and I'm happy to see that your issue is resolved. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to let us know. Have a wonderful day!
-
Hey everyone! I can see that some of you are saying that this issue is now resolved for you, so thank you for keeping us all in the loop. Is there anyone who is still having trouble with this?
-
Hey @"rocketmanblamb", thanks for reaching out to us. At the moment, there's no way to either move or rename the backup folders, I'm afraid. I will however pass your comments along to our team about this, so thank you for your feedback here. If you have any other questions, let me know!

Hey @"garysch37", thanks for posting to our Community today. I just tested this on my end and it seems you're right, but I'm afraid there's no way to scroll or swipe on the photos at the moment. I would definitely suggest you post an idea about this on our idea board, though. That way, other users who may find this useful…

Hey @"cranerr", sorry to jump in here! How did it go when you used a different browser? Also, you can follow the steps here, to see the size of files and calculate the size of folders on our website.
-
Hey @"jvoong", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Did you perhaps install any security apps like an antivirus or maybe you have a firewall that might be blocking Dropbox from connecting? If you do, try temporarily disabling those, to see if that helps. Let me know what you find!
-
Hey @"sloohand", thanks for posting your question here! Can you just clarify one thing for me? Did you manually add these files to your Dropbox folder? How did they end up trying to sync in the first place? Is it possible that they were saved to your Desktop/Documents/Downloads folders and you enabled our backup feature?
-
Hey @"Chuckles333", sorry to jump in here. To see the syncing status that Megan asked you to check, you'll need to hover over the Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar with your mouse. As for the file you're updating, truth is that only if you update the file that's inside the Dropbox folder, will the file get updated…
