Hey @"Relaxalot", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you also getting a "couldn't start Dropbox" error pop-up on your screen when you try to open Dropbox? Have you received a notification to update your Dropbox to the new Dropbox for macOS version? If not, which version of the app are you using? You can hover…

Hey @"clairethayers", and @"Jay Nazar", can we send you an email, so we can look into this internally?
-
Hey @"MKendle", thanks for reaching out to our Community. Generally, if you don't have access to the email address, there's not much we can do to help you regain access to the Dropbox account linked to it. Is it possible that you might have any devices linked to that account, that might have received the 6 digit code…

Hey @"angusm", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Can you please let us know which email address this email came from? Is the address one of the official Dropbox ones? Keep me posted.

Hey @"SBabiche", thanks for joining our Community! To edit an Office file through the Dropbox app, firstly you'll need to also install the appropriate Office app, in this case the Excel app. Once that's installed, open the file from the Dropbox app and tap on the "open with" button (the square with an arrow right below the…

Hey @"Johnson S.", thanks for posting and happy Monday! Have you taken a look at our Help Center article with info and steps on how to use our automations feature? Let me know how it goes.

Hey @"Nick_S", thanks for reaching out to us. Can you let me know which version of the Dropbox app you have installed and what the sync status currently is? You can hover over the Dropbox icon, to see this info. Also, what kind of icons do the files in your Dropbox folder have next to them? Cloud icons? Let me know and…
-
Hey @"peteratdrome", thanks for reaching out to us. Since your Dropbox folder is now in ~/Library/CloudStorage, there are some things you need to know about this version of the Dropbox app. Specifically, when it comes to some third party apps, might need to be allowed access as seen here, so that you can use them properly.…

Would you mind attaching the screenshots instead? You can click on the "reply" button and right above the reply box, there should be a camera icon that will allow you to attach them to your next reply.
-
Hey @"Pippo123", to attach a screenshot to your next reply here, click on the "reply" button and right above the reply box, you should be able to see a camera icon that will allow you to attach it.
-
Hey @"hekeha", just to clarify, sharing a folder doesn't really count as a referral. If your brother created an account without using the referral invitation, there's really not much we can do. If you follow the steps to send a referral on dropbox.com and choose the "copy link" option instead, can your brother sign up…
-
Hey @"Tom S.18", do you mean that our backup feature was enabled and your desktop files got uploaded to Dropbox? Are those the files you're looking for? If you take a look at your backups page, are you able to locate them?
-
Hey @"Moslaz", thanks for reaching out to us about this. Are you trying to opt in for the free trial through our website or the app on your phone? Can you send me a screenshot of what you see when you try to opt in for the trial? Just make sure you hide any personal info on the screenshot. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the update here! Does clearing the cache of the Dropbox app help with this? You can do so, by tapping on 'account', then on the gear icon and then on 'clear cache'.
-
Hey @"MikVest", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you previewing the files using the Dropbox app? If you use the 'open with' option and open the files with the PowerPoint app, do you see the same behavior? How about saving the file to your device and opening it locally? Let me know and we'll go from there.
-
Hey @"AZ13", thanks for reaching out and sorry to see you're having trouble accessing your account. The issue is that without access to the email address associated with the account, there's no way to verify ownership of the account. Is it possible to reach out to the email service provider, to ask them to re-enable the…
-
Hey @"hekeha", thanks for posting to our Community. Can you please let me know what you were trying to do with this inivitation? Was this a referral, so you can gain extra space? Or perhaps an invitation to a shared folder? Let me know and we'll go from there.
-
When this issue appears, @"FixMyRun", what does your plan tab report? Does it show enough free space? Does the message only appear when you plug your camera in to your computer? And does your Dropbox account have enough space for all the photos/videos in your camera?
-
Thanks for keeping me updated on this, Debby. I will suggest an alternative here, so please let me know if it helps. You'll need to follow these steps: * Make sure all your files are available in your account online. * Quit the Dropbox app. * Manually reset your desktop folders location, by following the steps here. *…

Thanks for the update here, Rachel. I understand your confusion, so let's see what we can find out about this. Are the files that appear to be getting downloaded usually set to "online-only"? If so, is it possible that any third party apps are trying to access those files? E.g. an antivirus, other backup services, or other…

Hmm, if the email address that the admin was using for their account is under a business domain that you use for the company, perhaps the company IT can gain access to the email and that would help you gain access to the Dropbox account. If not, I'd suggest you contact our support team directly, to see if there's something…

If you're using the Dropbox desktop application, you should have a folder named Dropbox in your file explorer. Are you able to locate and open the file from that folder?
-
Hey @"TexAK", if your desktop files are within your Dropbox folder, are you able to just try and move some of the files back to your Desktop, to see if that helps?
