Welcome back to the community @"gobluejd" Is this happening with a certain filetype, or is it ALL files in the Dropbox folder? Just trying to help narrow down the issueen Thumbnails are not showing for files in Windows explorer Comentario por Dell_Dropbox October 2025

Which version of Windows and Dropbox are you running specifically? I know these questions may test your patience but its necessary to gather as much info we can when our teams inevitably delve into these situations. When exactly did the problem start?

Welcome to the forum @"larsd888". To help us get started, can you answer these questions? What operating system and version are you using ( Windows 11 Pro etc) Is Dropbox running on an internal drive, or is your Dropbox folder located on an external or network drive? Which version of Dropbox desktop app is installed…

Thanks for your feedback @"Monnakkies", I'll make sure its forwarded to the relevant team. Great suggestion!

@"TGS2point0" You should be able to do this with the one account that has all of the files in it. By downloading the mobile app or signing into the dropbox account from another location, you'll be able to access the files or add new ones for syncing. Can you help me understand the need for the second linked account?
-
Welcome to the community @"Suzana2" Yes, you can install the Dropbox all on your desktop and also install the mobile app on your phone, whether you have Android or iOS. You can find the desktop version here You can find the mobile version here Lastly, you can learn more about syncing the files on your desktop or phone…

Understood, However, the second computer may not necessarily need to sync everything onto its hard drive at one time, depending on the circumstances. But lets back up for a second, can you share what your ultimate goal is beyond linking the accounts? With that information, we may be able to explore some solutions.

Welcome back to the community @"TGS2point0" First, what type of business plan are you on specifically? This could affect what you can and can't link. More on that here. But assuming you have the correct plan: While signed into the business account * Log in to dropbox.com * Click your avatar (photo or initials) in the…

Hey there, welcome to the community @"BusinessBuddyTeam" TL;DR: Dropbox requires a Dropbox account to accept an invitation to a shared folder and have edit abilities, there's no way around it. Why? * Shared folders in Dropbox are actual synced folders across accounts: changes by any collaborator propagate to all others. To…

Hey there, welcome back to the community @"AdH7" In this scenario, what method is user 1 using to access Dropbox, and have you confirmed that things are syncing correctly? Also, what method is user 2 using to access Dropbox, and have you checked their syncing status as well?
-
Welcome to the community @"gabe-babish" This is a great suggestion, would the idea be to have comments from previous versions appear as a separate layer or thread on the new version, so you can distinguish them from new feedback? Just thinking about how the mix of old/new comments would look on the updated version of the…

I believe this might be possible via API but I'm non-technical and not 100% sure, I'm going to move this post over to the API forum so someone can take a look

To piggyback onto what Mark said, here are instructions on creating view-only shared links, which one count against your account quota. Scroll down to the section that says "How to create and share a Dropbox link with view-only access"
-
Leo, you're correct that local OS display configurations such as colors will not sync across devices through Dropbox.

Welcome back to the community @"lpvmc" I have a couple of questions to start to make sure we're on the same page. Are you using Dropbox on Windows or MacOS? Are you using a Dropbox folder on your desktop to manage files? Or are you simply uploading the files into Dropbox ad hoc without managing your Dropbox folder? If…
-
Rich answered the question perfectly, but I just want to add in the reminder to make sure you've removed the extra files prior to downgrading. Meaning if you have 600GB of files, make sure you get under the free storage limit when you're done.
-
Hey there, welcome to the community @"SusannaLittell" To help me understand, when you say "now I can't remove my folder from their Dropbox account" can you elaborate a little more? What happens when you try to revoke access?
-
Welcome to the community @"ShalomAdmin" This article is exactly what you're looking for, it includes instructions and lets you know what happens to the team member's files. The team member’s account is converted to an individual Dropbox Basic account that’s no longer linked to your team. They retain access to all files and…

Hey there, welcome to the community @"ethankorvne" I just looked into this for you and found out that this is indeed expected behavior. Once you pass the 1TB threshold you won't be able to sync every 15 minutes.
-
Hey there, welcome to the community @"phjsw" When did you first notice this problem? Are you receiving any kind of error message? When you say "for some videos", have you been able to identify what types of videos those are and how they differentiate from the ones where things are working as they should?
-
Welcome to the community @"Yosra" I can absolutely empathize with losing access to old files, but unfortunately like support said there's no way for us to access files that were removed that long ago. It's not an issue of money, we don't have the ability to access them. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
-
Welcome to the community @"hjhworks" Just want to make sure I understand things clearly. First, this is happening on the Dropbox website, and not in the desktop app, correct? Secondly, what kind of account/plan are you using specifically? Can you take a screenshot of the error you're receiving?
-
Welcome back @"Terry P." Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?
-
Hey there @"Fay Bloom" , welcome to the community. Can you take a look at this page and see if anything may apply to your situation?
-
Welcome back to the community @"CTW999" I actually agree with this one, I would love to see album art integrated. upvoted!
-
Welcome to the community @"sailnfool" I totally get how these scripts work for your use case, but isn't this more of a network solution than a "Dropbox" idea? If I have it all wrong, let me know!
-
@"cyenx" apologies for the delay, and I appreciate your understanding while I looked into this. It looks like you'll be the last one who makes it into the beta. Please give the team a little time to implement this, it should happen "soon" but I didn't get an exact timeline. For everyone else, the beta is closed!
-
Hey everyone, Just following up, a fix was recently released for this and the issue should be solved
-
@"Hickcup003" Its possible the person who shared to PDF with you created a view-only version of the link, and disabled downloads. First, follow Jay's recommendation and see which options you have. If you don't see download, I'd contact the person who sent the link and have them create a new one that allows downloads.

Hey there @"danielneotropico" welcome to the community Are all files having a sync issue or is it only excel files? Are you using the Windows version of the Dropbox desktop app or the MacOS version? What did the recent email from Dropbox say? I'm trying to determine the connection between these two events
