Is there a specific exception I should check for on the createFolder? I don't want to ignore an exception that is unrelated to the fact that the folder already exists.

As an indication of how complex all that Sync API caching was, my new Android app used to use Sync and is now using Core API v2. I dropped the caching functionality and my app now only offers user-directed upload and download of its local document files. My code is about the same in length. But the Android APK file is half…

I don't know what you mean. My app got 2 Mb smaller when I replaced my use of the Android Sync SDK (v1) with Core API v2. I am using the Java SDK 2.0.6 for Core API v2. Are you using Android Studio? Where do you see these error messages about 'app size" and 'methods limit'?
-
Functionally, I now have Core API v2 integrated into my app and working well. I have decided to create a dynamic DbxClientV2, rather than as a static as shown in the official sample code, and it seems to be working well. Does anyone know if this is in accord with best practices? I release the DbxClientV2 after each session…
-
Along the same lines, can anyone tell me what the best practices are for handling sDbxClient? In the example it is a static that is set once and for all during the lifetime of the app. But in a real application, the app might have a lifespan of several days or weeks. Is there anything in the authentication process that…

If the SDK is available as a separate framework file, why does this page: https://www.dropbox.com/developers/documentation/objective-c#overview still say the SDK is not available, and there is nothing available under the "Install", "Tutorial", and "Documentation" tabs on that page either?
-
When the Obj-C SDK is finally released, will it be available in the form of a pre-built library, or will we still have to build it ourselves? And will there be documentation?
-
That fixed it. Now just one import replaces all the other Dropbox imports I was using.
-
When I try to add that import to my source file, I get a file not found error. I installed Dropbox with Cocoapods. Is there some different path I should use with that? Or is there some build setting I am lacking? I poked around with a Finder window and did not find any such header file, although I did locate all the other…

Here are my Dropbox imports: #include <DBAUTHAuthError.h> #include <DBFILESWriteConflictError.h> #include <DBErrors.h> If I comment out the middle one, I get the error on 'isFolder". I suggest that you put the required import files into the documentation, like Microsoft does with all their Win32 API functions.
-
At first I got an error with (cfError.path.conflict.isFolder), but then I realized that I just needed to include: #import <DBFILESWriteConflictError.h> and now it compiles without errors. Thanks.
-
Thanks Gregory. I had just figured out something like that from the comments in the Dropbox header files (more useful in this case than the HTML docs) and was just about to post something like that: if(cfError) { if((cfError.isPath) { DBFILESWriteError *werr = cfError.path; if(werr.isConflict) { NSLog(@"--This error can be…

Yes, that compiles without errors. I am doing this: if( [dbError isAuthError] ) { DBRequestAuthError* dbAuthError = [dbError asAuthError]; if (dbAuthError.structuredAuthError.isInvalidAccessToken) { //..handle Invalid Access Token Error } } where dbError is the instance of DBError returned by the API. But I am also curious…
