Why won't Amazon be co-operative with Google? Its more the other way round - Google want a tonne of concessions to use the Google Play store, in areas where Google and Amazon compete.

Nope.

Bye then.

I too keep getting asked to download dropbox, just to view a link. What I am getting from all the comments is that the user set up the link incorrectly? From the second part of your post, the user sent you a shared folder invite, not a shared link. Shared folders require a Dropbox account in order to accept the invite.…

Old test file, perhaps? ;)

As I said before, you can't have your users present their Dropbox username and password to your application - that is not allowed. You have to use the authentication flow detailed here: https://www.dropbox.com/developers/core/start/java This flow connects to the Dropbox servers using a browser instance, allows the user to…

No, users just have to authenticate using the OAuth process flow - the application will have your keys and secrets embedded in it, they don't have to generate their own.
-
You can't - you have to use the OAuth authentication flow, you cannot authenticate using a username and password.

An account got link to a business account, and then the admin deleted it, is there a way to get it back? You need to get the admin of the Business account to contact support to have it reinstated. How come anyone is able to delete my account, without any information? When you accepted the Business invite, you gave control…

The moment you accept the Business invite and go through the (pretty obvious) process of converting the account to a Business one, the account is no longer yours. During the process, you are given the option of transferring your personal files to a new account, but the moment you complete the process its no longer your…

This is an often asked question, and has been covered in detail before - if you want the indepth answer, search the forums, but the short answer is that smaller plans would cost Dropbox a significant amount of money from people downgrading from the current Pro plan to a smaller plan more suitable to their needs. When…

It would seem that its a long running bug with Dropbox, one which the team have tiptoed around actually admitting exists - the common claim is that Dropbox is case insensitive, which is true enough but it should be case preserving. There have been many questions on the Dropbox forums over the years about mysteriously…

Mike, if you use a shared folder, the effect is same regardless of the permissions of the people accepting the shared folder invites. A shared link on the other hand is divorced from a recipients Dropbox account, and infact you dont even need a Dropbox account to access one, so there is nothing to allocate space from.…

Question therefore – how, within Dropbox can I do this – please please please do not just say you have to get the original owner to send a new link, it MUST be a facility with Dropbox somewhere!!! You do have to ask the original owner to send a new link - they are the ones who get to decide how the files are shared, you…
