As has been stated, there is nothing to fix here. The preview of a video is just that; a preview. It is not intended to be the high-resolution original video that you uploaded. It is a transcoded preview of the original file, limited to 15 minutes of playback. If you want to see the original video in its original quality,…

That's why there's the Sharing page, so you can see and access everything that has been shared with you. Also, inviatations don't work like they did previously. Before, when you invited someone to a shared folder, they had to accept the invitation before they were a member. Now, as soon as you invite someone they have…

The RSS link was once found on the Events page, but with the redesign of the site it seems to have been removed. Even the link to the Events page itself is gone, though the page is still acecssible. Mention of the RSS feature was removed from the help center long ago, so the feature was likly deprecated back then and…

It doesn't work that way anymore. When you invite someone, they have access, period. They have the ability to leave* and join the share at will, until they remove it from their Dropbox or you remove them from the share. You can see that they're a member, but you can't see when they leave or join in (until they remove it…

Make sure that your existing Dropbox folder is in a location that both operating systems can access. If needed, use Dropbox to move the Dropbox folder to the a location. Once Dropbox is in a common location, install Dropbox on the second OS. Towards the end of the install process you'll see an Advanced Options link. Click…

Dropbox can't determine what is a photo from your camera or an image from any other app. It simply uploads any images that it finds in the camera roll (iOS) or the gallery (Android). If you don't want Dropbox to upload them, then turn off the option in WhatsApp to automatically save images that you receive.

The "error" in your screenshot isn't the actual error. It's the test file that contains the error message. Open that file in a text editor and past the content here. [This thread is now closed by moderators due to inactivity. If you're experiencing a similar behavior, feel free to start a new discussion in the Ask a…

You should be able to see any changes on your Events page.

When you renamed the files, you removed the file extension. Please read this entire page.

The only time referral space is removed from an account is when it has been determined that a referral had been earned through illegitimate means. When that happens, all referral space is usually removed. The only way to know the actual cause is to contact Support. Open your ticket here: https://www.dropbox.com/support…

Your inability to understand what is clearly stated does not make it illegal or misleading. Note: Your other two posts were flagged as spam due to the external links.

Once again... Rich wrote:I've seen this before, and have done it myself a few times. Dropbox has the ability to save URLs that you drag into its window. That's all that's happening here. You're intending to click on something, whether to view or select, while you're still moving your mouse. Your browser sees this as a…

What you're seeing when you open a PDF in Dropbox (in the app on your phone or on the web) is just a preview of the file. Open the PDF in Adobe or another app that supports PDF files.

Romout-GL wrote:Why you did it? Best guess... It was being abused, and it was never really intended for hosting files on webpages anyway. It was meant for sharing files with other people. Jonathan H.1 wrote:... there's no way to generate links from within Explorer/Finder any more Yes, there is. When you right-click on a file, Copy Dropbox link will create a share link to the file and place it in your clipboard. Paste it where you need it and change ?dl=0 if needed.

Their use of the word applies because the Public folder was deprecated in October 2012 when Share Links replaced the functionality. From that point forward, new accounts no longer received Public folder, and only Pro or Business accounts could still create one. The feature was deprecated. As of March 15, 2017, the feature…

Just pointing out that Patrick specifically stated that he's not working with a Team, so the "Sign in as user" might not be available to him. If that's the case, then there's no way to do what he's asking.

Kasimir wrote: To share a picture in a forum, you need a clean ending (.png or .jpg ...). No, you don't, at least not on most sites. There are some forum packages that may require it, but most that I post on do not. The image below is coming from a share link in my Dropbox account, using the ?raw=1 parameter.

And just to point out, you can still create links to your files using the Share Link feature which replaced the Public folder in 2012. You can also still use such links to post images to forums and other websites. * https://www.dropbox.com/help/167 * https://www.dropbox.com/help/201

When Dropbox indexes your data, a local database of your files is created. Dropbox uses this database to keep track of what files are stored locally, what files need to sync, etc. If the cleaning apps remove this database during their drive cleanup, Dropbox will have to re-index your files.
