Have you tried restoring previous versions? https://help.dropbox.com/delete-restore/recover-deleted-files-folders

As other users have requested, I would like to pick any folders on my computer drive for automatic backup, and thought I was going to get this with the new backup. Hi @"gnkwang" 1) you need to make sure you are working on the files and editing them INSIDE the Dropbox folder - they wont sync if they are anywhere else. You also must have Dropbox running and be using the same account on the computer and mobile. 2) Have a look at https://help.dropbox.com/sync/make-files-online-only -…

Dropbox has never ever actually supported Windows Server clients - the only officially supported Windows clients are 10 and 11. https://help.dropbox.com/installs/system-requirements

Hi @"dhtax" Just to add you wont be able to use any tools on your devices to find the large shared folder because they wont sync - so if you added a folder and it goes over the limit syncing immediately stops so it wont download. Dropbox will sync every file and folder that you see online at www.dropbox.com/home. So, if…

Dropbox downloads files locally when you open or edit them and so will still need some storage. It also will not turn files locally that have been downloaded to Online only again automatically, you need to actively do that.

@"RichardBudd" wrote:24hrs still not lifted? How do i get this resolved please? RB It is 24 hours for your first ban and longer each after that. If its still banned after a few days it could be due to a breach of service so you'll need to log a ticket at www.dropbox.com/support.

@"Ll4589" wrote: Can they see when I removed access? Or are they only able to see I’m no longer a member Yes they will be able to as it will show up at www.dropbox.com/events and there is no way to stop that occurring.

@"BillyLonsbem" wrote:Hi Mark, It's indeed strange that the folders were modified while the files weren't. I can explain this bit... folders dont use up quota as they are 0 byes in size and so, will usually still sync and update EVEN if the files in them don't.

@"BillyLonsbem" wrote:I would like to revert to the version of my Desktop from last night, before the deletion occurred. Does Dropbox keep a copy of files or an earlier version on its server even after reaching the storage limit? And if so, how can I restore these files? You can restore an earlier version but it will only…

@"derpsn" wrote:But I have seen that the desktop app is able to add my external document folder. So not by default, but I can add it, right? That is Dropbox backup which does not sync, but instead backup. They did beta test it outside of Backup but stopped it. Dropbox syncing (as in what you are used to with OneDrive) can…

@"derpsn" wrote:I hope I got it right, but it seems that Dropbox is able to have the same feature set as Onedrive with syncing my documents, pictures and so on, but with the advantage that I can exclude certain folders without losing them locally. Hi Unfortunately not. Dropbox only sync's what is inside the \Dropbox…

One thing to note is that if you are using Backup on a directory it is not a sync as such - it used to be in the initial beta but was then changed. In fact it is now almost a 'dumb' sync in that it will sync one way to Dropbox but not to other devices and you cannot share/edit or work with the files being backed up.

How about you just send him the link instead from https://www.dropbox.com/account/referrals to his email?

Thank you for the screenshot @"mdhakr" it really helps! That is a Team Folder so the Team Administrator needs to remove you from it 🙂

@"jasonaspears" wrote: So not even through a browser like Firefox?? You may be able to up and download via the browser (as long as browser versions are still supported), yes. Thanks for screenshots 🙂 There is one showing at 9.51am but if nothing before that then nothing was saved to Dropbox. You can also double check that at www.dropbox.com/events to see updates and changes to files. For whatever reason the update didn't get sync'd to Dropbox - not connected to internet? internet issue? Word…

Hi @"Breezewood1" Dropbox cannot do that - there is no link between Facebook and here (or at least not natively). So something else has happened. Have you checked your settings on Facebook to make sure its not auto uploaded from your phone, for example.

How do you mean disappeared? They should all appear as long as you have a version with revisions available

Thanks for using Dropbox! The desktop client is regularly updated with many improvements and fixes. Such as..... this is a beta.... what are we supposed to be testing or watching out / aware of that may break? Come on guys - its just lazy and disrespectru

Unfortunately the only way to get devices back on is to unlink so you are below the three. If you unlink the wrong one you can re-add it back on 🙂 So if you do happen to unlink the wrong one its fine, it will stop it working temporarily but you can just relink.

@"didi15" wrote:OK I know this probably seems like a dumb question, but bear with me... But I thought Dropbox was in the cloud. What gives? Is everything I put into Dropbox being saved to two places? @"hollis1818" wrote:I wish that were true. I had 4.25 G of space for many years. At least 10, I think. Recently, the space went down to 2G. And most of my files are gone. Of course, as a free basic account, I can't reach anyone at DB. What does www.dropbox.com/events show? How often do you log in and when was the last time?
-
Your shared files are using up the space as you can see on the graph. Now its possible they are not syncing to the machine (Selective Sync in use or possibly set to Online Only?) So, don't use the computer for size estimates - it isn't accurate at all (there is also a hidden cache). Everything you see at…

How do you mean your personal folder? Do you have 2 Dropbox accounts on your device - one Team/work and one for personal?

@"MCaballero61" wrote:That didn't work. sigh It does work, but only if you are not logged in. If you are you will not see it. Hence using an incognito window. You will then see:

You didnt answer my question - you need to see if you can see them at www.dropbox.com/home. THAT is where they will download from and so THAT is where you need to be checking. And after 6 months you may find not all are recoverable - Dropbox does delete files to bring people back under quota, hence me saying, check online…
