Hi @"jen2fe" You are nearly out of space - you only have 74mb of space left based upon the data you posted below. Shared folders use up the quota of every person within the share UNLESS you are a licensed team member of a Business plan. So, your colleagues either have more space, a paid plan or are part of a paid team.

It is a really really bad idea to sync Dropbox to an external drive - the risk of data loss is HUGE. The only way to do this is to move the whole Dropbox directory to the external drive. But that then means if it disconnects at any time or is slow to re-connect on boot up Dropbox can see this as a total wipe of all data.…

Dropbox ignores commands based upon HTML tags (in fact I'm quite shocked its rendering the page at all, I thought that had been disabled). There isnt a way round this that I know of
-
@"Pham" Hi The only way to disable it without getting the code is to use the emergency recovery codes you were given when you set up the 2FA
-
What does it show at www.dropbox.com/account and www.dropbox.com/home ? You also need to change the mindset around volume of file and size. It doesnt matter how many files you have in Dropbox its how big they are that is the issue.
-
It'll stop payments now but you'll keep benefits of it until the time of renewal. So you'll stay upgraded till Jan

www.dropbox.com/downgrade 🙂
-
I'm afraid as ridiculous as it sounds there isnt a way of doing this.
-
Nice to see that nearly 9 months after we started asking there is still no actual release or candidate notes on this. Dropbox just doesnt care about users does it @"clientreleases" ?
-
@"cchriste" have a look at https://www.dropbox.com/share/links
-
The fact you've been sent it second hand confirms its user error (on the other parts side) because it is not possible to share edit access via sharing links. Edit access is only possible to people whos accounts have been given specific access to the folder. It isnt possible to just share the link to others.
-
Hi The issue is that the person who has sent you the link has not sent it as a shared folder - they've sent you a read only link. You cannot upload to that. They need to send you a share.
-
As the shared folder is in your account it uses your quota. Therefore you need enough space to be able to put it in your account. Your account does not benefit in any way from the other users upgrade.
-
@"moebius" The opt out option would be to not use the service. As a Dropbox employee has said no information is stored etc. so its outside of GDPR. If you are unhappy, however, the only way to not be involved is not use the service. Certain levels of business users can request where data is stored, but, personal users…

Dropbox uploads identical photos BUT it displays previews on the website, so, if you are using that make sure you download the actual file and not the preview.
-
Yes, thats supposed to happen. So as long as you have unlinked then you can delete away without any repercussion to the website apps 🙂
-
@"GHOSTHUNTERINVIRGINA" Simply put you havent deleted enough. If you delete 2gb of files but are 3gb of files over quota you are still 1gb over quota and as such... it is still full. Dont think about volume of files think about size of files.

Hi @"Engineer DeGi" If you click on the link you posted it states at the very top that this is a depreciated feature which is no longer available from Oct. It also states that it is only available to paid users:

@"csetters" wrote:I also experienced the same thing with my business files, and it was devastating, it cost me a very large account that was just getting ready to close. I was frantic, and I am furious.. That is something you need to take up with Apple - Dropbox simply syncs what is in the folder. It isnt capable of…

@"Hannu J K" You need to be on a paid Business Standard or Advanced plan. As has been said Professional does not cover this.
-
You need to change the preferences within the Dropbox app to tell it to open the app and not Explorer. It gives you the option to change it on the 'General' tab
-
You need to contact them direct @"krisbaniasia".
-
Have you checked you have enough quota to access it @"rrmendez" ?
-
Nope. Still no updates or release notes. Shame 😞

Part of this is a large VAT issue that the whole EU put in (the UK did it before the EU). Part of this legislation was to start charging VAT dependent upon where you buy - so things like Alibaba now do the same when you buy. Hi @"Danny13" Basically it means that at some point it was a shared folder, but, either everybody has left it themselves, or, you have removed them but not yourself. So it is still technically a shared folder (others could rejoin if they left themselves) although at this moment in time you are the only member. If you…

Hi @"Jason Sheldon" I can save directly in to Dropbox without issue - I do it all the time.
-
I'd suggest asking Rocketbook for help - it sounds like their API could have a fault
-
Dropbox doesnt have a recycling bin, so, there isnt a way to move things out of that. Deleted files and folders just get deleted within that folder itself and are 'removed' and hidden from others. If you go to the shared folder and click on the file and restore it once its restored you can view the previous version history…
